A weather presenter from Milwaukee, Sam Kuffel, was dismissed by WDJT-TV just one day after labeling Elon Musk a “Nazi” on social media. The incident arose from Musk’s gesture at an event, which some users on the internet compared to a Nazi salute. Kuffel’s post, which featured a GIF from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, prompted significant backlash, including criticism from conservative radio host Dan O’Donnell for allegedly disseminating misinformation.
Kuffel had been employed at the station for more than five years prior to her sudden exit. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) came to Musk’s defense, asserting that while his gesture was awkward, it did not constitute a Nazi salute. Additionally, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed support for Musk, highlighting his strong connections to Israel and his advocacy for the Jewish state.
